RIGHTEOUS FOOL To Support CLUTCH
December 3, 2010RIGHTEOUS FOOL — the North Carolina project featuring two founding members of CORROSION OF CONFORMITY (C.O.C.),Reed Mullin (drums, vocals) and Mike Dean (bass, vocals) alongside guitarist Jason Browning from HR of BAD BRAINS' solo band — will play five dates in late December with CLUTCH. The tour follows the release of the band's debut single, "Forever Flames/Edict of Worms", which was recently made available on the experimental metal label Southern Lord Records.
RIGHTEOUS FOOL recently played several dates with the reunited three-piece "Animosity"-era C.O.C. lineup featuring Dean, Mullin and guitarist Woody Weatherman, and like C.O.C., they mix elements of hardcore punk with rock and metal. They opened for CLUTCH back in October, and are set to join the Maryland rockers again for a tour that begins on December 27 in Richmond, Virginia and wraps up on New Year's Eve in Asheville, North Carolina. Also appearing on the bill is Savannah, Georgia's KYLESA.
The dates are as follows:
Dec. 27 - Richmond, VA - The National
Dec. 28 - Clifton Park, NY - Northern Lights
Dec. 29 - Cleveland, OH - House of Blues
Dec. 30 - Cincinnati, OH - Bogart's
Dec. 31 - Asheville, NC - The Orange Peel

In a 2009 interview with the New Raleigh, Dean described RIGHTEOUS FOOL as "a heavy rock trio that can chug along like a locomotive at high velocity, a la early BAD BRAINS or C.O.C., or inch forth with the density of an advancing lava flow. All three members sing, and the vocals end to be a bit more melodic than early C.O.C."
Mullin co-founded CORROSION OF CONFORMITY in 1982 as a hardcore punk act alongside guitarist Woody Weatherman and bassist Mike Dean before leaving the band in 2001 amidst health concerns.
